Default Whats the widest tire you fit on 1965 Mustang Coupe

I have a 65 Mustang coupe, whats your widest size tire (and on what size rim with backspacing) you have fit on a 65 coupe without having any rubbing problems,thanks

anything wider than a 225 on a 7 inch wheel is asking for problems

I Put A 1977 Lincoln Versaille 9" In My 66 Coupe And Am Running A 15x8 Rear Wheel With 4 1/2 Backspace And No Offset. Wrapped In A Bfg Ta 225/60/15. Looks Good No Rubs Yet

I have a 245/45/17 on alum. styled "steel" wheels 17x8 4.75 back space ....I think they look great.....but it is on a vert but I don't think that matters.

66 coupe with 77 versaille 9" and disc brakes.. 347 cid 12.60 1/4 mile 108.43
running a 235/60/15

Mine is running 225/45/17 front on 17x7 TTII with 4 inch BS, 245/45/17 rear on 17x8 with 5 inch BS. 225 in the front is about all you can get away with without suspension modifications

245/60x15 0n my 66 fb, as long as your leaf spring bushings are tight. 15x7 rim 4.25 backspacing.

I run 245 on the back and 215 up front. I could not even run 225 up front with my wheels. they would rub. I am running 620 coils with no spacer so it is lower than stock.
