Post How Much Horsepower Do I Have?????

Hi, I am just wondering how much horsepower my 66' Mustang coupe has. It has a 1968 302 4BBL motor in it and its bored out 30 over with a mild cam in it.It has aluminum intake, headers, flowmaster exhaust kit, posie traction bars and thats about it. If anyone could help me, i would like for you to give me an estimate of how much horsepower i am making about now. Thank You.

only real way to really tell is get it on a dyno to tell you the truth. should only be about 40-75 dollars for a pull

Like cobra said, the only real way is a dyno run. But since you want an estimate...with the mods you mentioned I'd say 310-340hp. That's a pretty broad range.

Every car varies, so dyno it if you can and get some actual fact based numbers.

It would've been nice to do a "green pull" or a run without your mods to get a baseline, then run again after to see the real increase.

Thanks A lot. I would've done a run before i put the mods on but i bought the car with them on and the owner never ran it. I will dyno it to really see. Thanks again.

Actually you're lucky if you're pushin' anything more than 250-260 hp. Thats not bad for a 289/302. If the motor has a lot of miles on it it will be less. A stock 4 barrel motor from the factory was rated around 220 ponies...and they figured hp different back then. Mild cam, intake , headers and NO head work...you're lucky if you added 40 hp.
