Default Centerforce Clutch Problems

I needed a new clutch in my '71 Boss 351 and went with a Centerforce kit. The problem is, the diaphragm style pressure plate does not exert enough force to bring the clutch pedal up off the floor when depressed. Now I'm depressed. I've added a heavier spring from the equalizer bar to the frame but no help. Any thoughts on what I could try? I could go to a different clutch kit but that's expensive and a lot of work so I'm hoping to make the Centerforce work. Thanks in advance. Jeff

I don't know how it is on a '71 but on my '66, I had to remove the under dash spring. Its an 'over center action' type of spring that will either push the pedal to the floor or bring the pedal up, depending on where in the travel the pedal is.
