Cool front/rear 68 disc brake conversion

Ok...I'm sure this has been discussed on the forum before, but I could not find anything on it. I was wondering what would be a good conversion kit. Looking for brands, some other car that I can rob them from, websites, or anything that would direct me to a decent set of brakes. I am looking to make a power or non-power conversion. I'm just not sure how well a power conversion would fit. If I can save $250 by not having power then so be it. Just looking for some 4 piston front and rear disc brakes. Also, how difficult/how long should I expect to take to make this conversion. Would I be able to use the same drum spindles and the discs bolt right on? Would I need to run new brake lines to the rear, or how would that work? Any help is much appreciated. I thank you in advance for any info you can give to me.

This guy sells brackets on ebay to convert front or rear to disc brakes, around $100 for a set of his brackets, then you use GM calipers with Ford rotors. I have not bought anything so I can't attest to it, but it does seem less expensive than a lot of the other options. I just did Granada conversion on a 66 Coupe, the spindles cost me $100 and I spent another $200 in rotors, calipers, and bearings, not to mention about 12 hours worth of grinding, sanding, sand blasting, etc, to clean up and powder coat the spindles before assembling everything.

Call around to the local boneyard(s) and see if they have any Granada's, the swap is supposed to be an easy one.

I did the granada swap...very very easy...you will need to purchase a new master cylinder and brake line adapter from the rubber lines to your hard lines, you will also need to purchase the Granada tie rod ends...they will thread in to your Mustang tie rods...make sure you get the entire rotor, spindle and caliper from the granada and don't forget the rubber lines

There are plenty of options out there. Alot of people are starting to convert to the newer disc brake setups also. I am actually considering a 4 wheel disc brake swap from a 99-04 GT. Most people opt for the 99-04 cobra brake swaps when you go this route, but you are limited to 17" and larger wheels with the big cobra brakes. If you are interested in these swaps, let me know and I can post a few links.

The Granada setup is hard to find in the boneyards around here but if you like that setup try discbrakeswap.com. Complete kit for less than 600.00 and based on the Granada setup . I'm going the Scarebird route to stay four lug on my I6 66 convertible .

I just finished converting my 70 coupe from drum to disc, I purchased a kit from discbrakeswap.com. The kit was very complete and I didn't have to try to hunt up parts in a junkyard. Dennis (the owner) was very helpful in answering any questions. I also looked into scarebird and have heard some good things about their kit. But I didn't like the idea of have components froms 4 or 5 different makes and models in the system. ex the rotors from a 1990's s-10 pick up. The system I installed is NOT a Granada swap, It replicates the original disc system for mustangs and uses stock parts.
