Default Where is the dip stick located on a 289?

Where is the dip stick located? Is it in the front or the rear of the engine and on which side? I thought it was up front on the left side. Drivers side.

mine is located front left

It's on the passenger side, front of engine.

Thanks guys. Does any one know what ford motor has the dip stick in the rear of the motor on the drivers side?

it depends on the timing cover...a REAL early 289 did not have one since the oil filler was on the timing cover
