Ok, here's what I know, C80E-9430-C C= decade (c is 60's) 8= last digit of year (1968) O= vehicle line (O is Fairlane/Torino, [Z is Mustang]) E= type of part (E is for 'engine') 9430= basic part number C= revision? (3rd revision?, I'm not sure here)
Remember that some parts were interchangable between lines and even Ford did so at the factories since it wouldn't make sense to have identical interchangable parts with Torino suffixes, Mustang and others. Usually the part carried the desination from the first vehicle line to use it. This is why you will find some parts on a Mustang with the 'O' designation. Only when a specific part was needed or a new part for the Mustang would it have the 'Z' in the part number.
The last character of 'C' is the only one I'm not sure on. I only took a guess on that one.
