Speedometer cable

Hi, i am in need of a new speedometer cable, as mine is broken. Are these hard to replace? Thanks, Garrett

As far as I know, I think they are just a cable to your speedo from the tranny.

You may have to remove the gauge cluster so that you can have room to unscrew the cable form the speedo. On the trans. side there is usually a bolt that holds a clamp to the cable. The cable should pull straight out. On reassy. make sure you route the cable away from the exhaust and don't forget to use some lube on it. Good Luck ---Chuck

It's pretty strait foward on a 66 it will probably take longer to jack the car up and put it on chasis stands than changing out the cable

Wimblton white 66 coupe C code 289 auto
97 Jeep Wrangler 4.0 auto, lift ,winch,33's etc
04 Holden VY SS 5.7 auto (wifes)
88 KLR 250
