Question Will a 1998 8.8 trac loc rear axle work in a 1967 Mustang?

I have a 1967 with a factory 8inch rear axle with 2.50 gears, drum brakes. I can get a 3.27 rear axle 1998 GT trac loc 8.8 POSI really cheap. Does anyone know if it will work or where I can look up the dimensions? Or does anyone have one to sell? I have looked into replacing my gears and it's a little more work than I expected.

Thanks
Tom

I'm not sure about the width I've posted a question in the mustang Tech forum but you will need to do some fab work on spring pearches etc

It's too wide (71-73 length, a little more that 1" more on each side). Did some research a while back and the drum brake Fox rear is 67-70 length.

If you add the SN95 discs to the fox rear, it's the same width as a 94-98 rear. You can however adapt the SN95 brakes to Ranger axles and keep the 67-70 width if you want; I believe the brackets are $100 aftermarket.
