Question 1966 Mustang Hood. Go aftermarket or pay more for original tooling hood?

Just wondering if it is worth paying double the price for an 1966 Mustang Original Tooling Hood, or should I go with an aftermarket hood?

Is there really that big of a difference?

Hello. The fit of the original tooling hood is much better. You might try looking around for a good original. That's always plan 'A' for me. You can normally pick one up that's in good shape for around what you'ld pay for a new R.O.C. (Taiwan)hood and have a much better hood.Hope that helps.

well, in all actuality, the Taiwan hood for a 65-66 is pretty close to a Ford hood. If it was a 67...different story

I had a long talk with my bodyman about that, he doesn't mind and usually uses the aftermarket stuff but often has to rework parts to get them to fit right (the headlight buckets on front fenders seem to be the biggest offenders) so I guess it depends on how good your bodyman is and do you mind paying for parts that will need to be "adjusted".
