Exclamation Help! Need to fix Edelbrock shocks rubbing in 1967 Mustang?

I put a set of edelbrock shocks in the rear along with the new traction bars and have been extremely happy with them. I decided to put a matching set in the front, and found that they rub on the shock tower cap. I don't know if I should just try to put something in between to keep from rubbing a hole in the shock or modify the cap. I am worried of weakening the cap if I cut a small section out of it.

Does anyone make a cap that would fit this?

What would be my best option here? I would prefer to stick with these shocks, they seem to work great in the back, and I have had good success with these in other vehicles.

From looking at the latest Edelbrock catalog it seems their shocks have a cover or shield over the rod on the shock. My KYB shocks do not and of course there isn't a problem with my 67. Are you sure you have the correct shocks? The part numbers my cat. shows are 33214 Performer IAS series and PN 33237 for the Classic Series. I'd call their tech line at 1-800-416-8628 and see what they have to say. All the best,-Chuck
