Default What's wrong here? 1/2 inch window gap on 1967 Mustang Convertible!

Just bought a 67 convertible and there's a 1/2" gap between the window and the top when the windows were all the way up. The back quarter windows seen fine.

Are the side windows adjustible in their tracks...or is there an adjustible window stop...or do I have serious problem? Thanks.

There are several adjustment points for the window assembly. It is best to refer to the service manual (you can get one from most Mustang resto parts vendors at a reasonable price). I advise not to do this adjusting blindly or you can really open a can of worms. If you can follow instructions even someone without a lot of experience should be able to do it. I doubt you have any serious problems. All the best, -------Chuck

Default Hve you replced any parts on the door?

Have you replaced any door parts - such as the window or regulator?

As long as the top lines up to the windshield frame and the doors open and close fine then it isn't a serious problem. The window glass may be out of adjustment or not installed right like the others said or there's the possibility of it getting hung up on something.

Make sure the bottom of the glass isn't getting stuck on the gaskets/window felts along the tops of the doors. If it is that could easily stop the glass a half inch or so from fully up.

Hopefully a 1969 convertible or Sportsroof (non Mach or Boss) for next Mustang project

Trying to find my father's 1973 Mustang Grande he bought brand new. 3F04F126773 last known registration and title was in New Jersey, 1982.

Default Thanks

Thanks to all for the advice. No problems with the doors/hinges. I didn't do the work myself, but the car is in excellent condition. I will get a service manual and get educated. I hope the windows aren't a glue-job like my old 69. Had to fix those way too many times.

1969 was the only year of the Classic Mustangs that had the glue in windows. --------Chuck

Default 69 Door Glass Problems

Have you talked to a local glass shop? I would find a well established shop with older people in their, chances are they have seen this problem and will have a very good solution to fix it. the NGA certified shops usually have knowledgeable people working there.
