Default What is a good coating for suspension components

I need some guidance on refinishing suspension components. I can sand blast them and wish to re-coat them with something durable.

While on the subject, I have the whole front end rebuilt but it needs to be coated, primer is, well, not what I had in mind. Any suggestions for coatings for the engine bay and under body.

I did mine with black rustoleum, brush on for some parts, spray on for others. In my experience this has been a pretty good coating.

I used a product called Rust Encapsulator from the Eastwood Co.,Eastwood Company Home Page ,the paint will neutralize any rust and is available in several colors including the proper semi-gloss black. You won't have to blast any components just get them clean. This stuff is resistant to chipping and just about any thing else. If you brush it on it doesn't show brush marks for the most part. It says on the can that it's made for use as a chassis coat and underhood use. It can be used as a top coat or as a primer. Check out their web site. All the best,---Chuck

Thanks for the information. Another friend recommended a product called POR-15, stands for Paint Over Rust. I'll check out the Eastwood product also.
