That would be a good diagnosis if it will run out of gear than that could be it. Also your release bearing could have frozen up. If you are going to pull it apart go ahead and put in a good clutch at least on step up from the power you are making now for more reliability.

I don't think the clutch would cause it to stall though.

well i was thinking about it this morning if the clutch is not engageing at slower speeds and i push the clutch in that means the motor is trying to turn at lower rpms in higher gear and that will shut one off i dont no i just trying to trouble shoot thanks for the advice i might try going down the road and push the clutch in and put it in neutral and see if it cuts off

If your clutch is worn out this will alter the adjustment of the clutch linkage, meaning in other words the clutch is not disengauging completely placing drag on the engine even though you may have the pedal all the way to the floor. Take a peek at the assembly by pulling the bellhousing cover off to see if there is any material left on the clutch disc. If you see about 1/8 inch of disc left it's pretty thin. Try adjusting the linkage, if it's about to the limit it's time for a new clutch disc. Good luck,---Chuck
