Thumbs up 1968 Mustang Deluxe 200 CID Questions. Hey Guys & Gals..Newbie Here

I've owned my 1968 Stang Coupe Deluxe with 200 CID since 1990. The question I have it this....I have seen many 200 CID engine but not the same as mine. My air breather has a hose which connects directly to my oil cap. Like I mentioned, I've seen other 200 CID but without the hose tube hook up. Any help would be appreciated. Also my air breather is missing the snorkle. Any ideas where I may purchase the snorkle.

Welcome to AFM! I had a '67 Coupe with a 200ci in it for a short while and it had a breather hose from the air cleaner to the oil cap. I believe thats how most of them were, but people usually take it off because it robs power by giving the engine hot air.

Hope that helps,
Sore

The hose from the air cleaner to the oil cap is the closed crankcase emission system. This would have been required in certain areas cars were sold and optional on others.

I don't know of the snorkel or even the 6cyl air cleaner being reproduced right now. Watching ebay would be your best bet although you'd be basically getting another complete air cleaner.

Hopefully a 1969 convertible or Sportsroof (non Mach or Boss) for next Mustang project

Trying to find my father's 1973 Mustang Grande he bought brand new. 3F04F126773 last known registration and title was in New Jersey, 1982.

CA emissions standards?

The 200cid in my 65 convertible has a vent-tube crankcase system.

Thanks for the info.Any idea where I could get the hose which connects from the breather to oil cap. I understand some remove the hose for more h.p. I want to keep original. I was told by some that the hose should be coded?..not sure about that.
thanks again.
