Question 1965 Mustang Drip Rails. What material used in the drip rails?

I'm trying to figure out what material was used in the drip rails on 65/66 coupes. It looks like a caulk or seam sealer and after 42 years is all cracked and lifting. I'm in the process of prepping for paint and need to re-do this stuff. Does anybody know what to use for this???

If you go to an automotive paint store ask them for a tube of drip rail sealer. It comes in the same kind of tube that you would use with a caulking gun. It,s also available from most NAPA stores. It's specially made for the drip rails. They should know what you need. All the best,---Chuck

Default Thanks Chuck!

Thanks for the info, I figured it must be a special material for drip rails, as even after almost 42 years, it's still fairly soft and flexable.
Thanks,
John
