Hello.

It isn't a big deal to add the console. If you car has A/C then there is no mounting bracket. Only the full length consoles have one underneath the front compartment area. There aren't any templates for the mounting screws. What I do is attach the bracket to the console, position it where I want it to sit and mark where the holes go with a paint stick, then remove the console and make the holes. The console is much easier to install if you remove the front seats. The shifter will tell you where to center it and you can look through the back window to see if it's sitting straight. When you put the attaching screws in that go down both sides, do one on one side then the one in the same position on the other side. If you run them down one side then the other it will pull the console over a little and make it sit funny. You might not notice it without the seats, but when you put the seats back in, the console will be leaning on one of them or be a little twisted or something. If you have an automatic, put the car in 1st and remove the T-handle, if manual, pull it down into 1st and remove the ball or you will bust the console when you try to fit it into the car. There is a top trim piece on the console that serves as a shifter bezel. You want to install that piece after you get the console into the car. You can get all of the console stuff from places like NPD or occassionally you see original consoles on ebay. Hope that helps.
