Default 1967 Stock Tachometer Wiring Connections

I just picked up a stock tachometer for my GT350 project car and am having difficulty in finding a definitive wiring diagram on how to connect it. The tach has (1) BLACK and (1) RED wire coming from it. I found some documentation that states one wire goes to 12v Ign, and the other to the (-) terminal on the coil, however the picture that went with this description shows the connection going to the (+) terminal. Which wire goes where? I don't want to hook it up incorrectly and burn up the tach.

thanks,
steve
