Default Need help with cd player in 1966 Mustang

I've been working on restoring a 1966 mustang with help from a couple of people and a friend of mine installed a cd player in it. The dash was already cut when I got the car so it wasn't a big deal to put the cd player in. The cd player worked for awhile but recently I took it into the shop to get some transmission work done and some wiring cleaned up in the engine compartment and when I got it back the cd player didn't work anymore. I thought it might be the fuse at first so I just went ahead and replaced it but I still can't get the cd player to turn on. I thought the cd player might just be broken because it was a $10 used cd player so I also tried installing an old cd player I had that I knew worked cause I use it in my other car and it didn't work either. I checked the wiring with an led voltage tester and it was reading positive on the 12v+ battery wire and negative on the -12v ground wire but it's also reading negative on the 12v+ red wire that leads to the ignition. Could this be the problem and how can I fix this?

Sounds like a short to ground I would replace the entire wire back to the ignition source. But I would also be asking the trans guys what the He@$ they were doing and messing with. I don't trust any trans guy period I would rather get a crate one or drop it off than give them my car. Also your ignition switch may be bad with an internal short. But check everything under the dash they may have pulled something or stripped off some insulation on a wire that is grounding out.

I checked the wiring back to the dash and it seems to be ok and is not grounding out but the wire that it is spliced to under the dash also reads that it is negative instead of positive. Could this be a problem with the ignition switch or is it possible that the wire isn't even hooked up to the proper location, also how can I test to see if it's the ignition switch?
