Default 1966 Mustang 289 HiPo Camshaft spec?

I would like to know the original specifications for the stock Ford camshaft that came in the 1966 Mustang, 289 "HiPo" engine. Specs like - Advertised Duration, Duration @ 0.050", Lift, Timing @ 0.050" and lobe centerlines.

Any help will be appreciated.

You may have to do some math to get exactly what you want, but I am going to give you the cam specs from the service manual. Ford had a different way of measureing duration @ lift. They use duration at .008 in. on intake and .010 in. on exhaust.

Lobe lift: Intake 0.2983, Exhaust 0.2983, Theoretical valve lift: 0.477 Intake, 0.477 Exhaust

Valve timing: Intake opens 0.008 in.@ 46* BTDC Closes 0.010 in.@ 84*ABDC
Exhaust opens 0.008 in.@ 94* BBDC Closes 0.010@ 36* ATDC

Thanks for the info. I have the 1966 Comet, Falcon, Fairlane and Mustang "Shop Manual." Is this where you got the information? If so, could you tell me where it is? I've looked, but couldn't find it. Thanks again. Henry

Henry, the info I gave you came from the 1967 Cougar, Fairlane, Falcon, Mercury Intermediate, Mustang Shop Manual. It is listed in the Part 8-5-Engine Specifications. Page 8-133 "Camshaft" and Page 8-134 "Camshaft Valve Timing" .

The specification sections seem to all be listed at the end of each Group for example "Engine" section listed as "Group 8". Part 8-5 is specs. I'm almost sure you just overlooked the info.(not hard to do in these old manuals)
