Default distributer not getting spark from coil.

i was trying to switch out the old points with an electronic ignition and replace the coil. i replaced the coil with an msd 3 blaster coil and i removed the points but the electronic ignition was the wrong one so i put the points back in checked the gap everything was good but it wouldnt start. we tested the plug wire goign from the coil to the distributer and no spark any sugesstions. i was thinking it might have somehting to do with the wire coming from the ignition switch or the ground from the distributer that runs to the coil, maybe they were just old and when we removed them the broke or something but i have no idea. help please lol.

Check out your wiring with a multimeter and all fuses for continuity and u should find your problem fairly quick.

Use a test light or voltometer to see if you have electriciity frowling into the coil and from the coil to the distributor (not the coil wire, the actual wire that comes out of the negative side of the coil). If power goes into the coil but not out the negtive side, then you have a problem within the distributor/points.

Yeah, those old wires aren't but 40 years and have been lying on top of a hot engine all these years.
