Default Please Help: '65 Strut Rod Questions

I just had the front end rebuilt on my '65, 6cyl coupe.

I suspect the shop didn't install the strut rod bushings correctly. There is WAY too much movement laterally.

Does anyone have an actual picture or schematic of all the essential parts of the strut rod bushing assembly?

They may have ommitted an essential part(s) or assembled it incorrectly.

Aint' this hotroddin' FUN??

MUCH thanks!

Strut rod connects to the lower arm with two bolts.
Front of the strut rod goes through a bracket and is held in
place by a pair of bushings.
These sit on the strut rod via two 'big washers' which are torqued down
with a nut.
Check that the nut is tight (don't know the exact torque offhand but
it's pretty high).

Lads_John is correct. If you log onto npdlink.com and download their suspension catalogue file there is a good blow apart drawing of the front suspension on page 55 of the catalogue (2nd page of the suspension file). You can increase the magnification and see everything you need re: assembly.

Note: I am not a National Parts Depot employee... I just find them to be an excellent supplier of parts and information.

Appreciate the input. I think I found the problem today: low quality bushing had torn apart with less than 3,000 miles.

btw: that pic is the standard suspension pic in several catalogues, but it's for a '67 and newer.

I really DO appreciate the info, though.

thnx
