Default Power steering hoses close to the header

I installed a DSS 306 into my 67 Fairlane and I'm having all kinds of problems with the power steering hoses. I had a mostly-stock 289 with the same headers before but I believe with the new motor running much hotter I have already melted two hoses, one catching on fire causing me to use an extinguisher. Since then, now on the third hose, I have wrapped both the return and pressure hose in a heat-sleeve that Taylor makes, good for a constant 500 degrees and peak of 2000, and tried to bend / place the hoses in the best possible areas, but I am still worried about the car melting a hose, or even worse, catching on fire again. Any ideas out there? Thank you!

I had a friend that had a similiar problem but only he put a 350 in his Land Cruiser. He ended up taking a piece of exhaust tubing, cut it in half and trimmed the edges with door edge molding, welded a bracket on the back side and bolted to the pwr steering bracket to it to hold the hoses away from the header. It did a great job and ended his problem. I do not know how much room you have but something similiar may work.
