Default Speedometer cable for T5

Hello all,

I still have not performed my T5 conversion yet because I still have some questions. Can I still use the original four speed speedometer cable on the T5 or do I have to get a new one? Does anyone know how to hook up the back up lights to the T5? I have heard a lot of mixed things about this conversion. Can anyone that has actually did this conversion tell me how hard it really is to do? Most of the tech articles I have read on it pretty much say it is just like doing a clutch change, but I seem to have my doubts after listening to other people. I know that there is a chance I will have to enlarge the shifter hole, but what other pitfalls do I need to look out for? I just can't seem to get much info out of the tech articles I have read. Any help, especially from someone that has did this swap already, is appreciated.
Thanks

Use a cable for a C4 auto vintage mustang. You'll need the T5 backup light connector to connect it into the backup light wiring, but you could get by with spade tips instead. I have no idea why there would be mixed reviews on the swap, or why it would be considered all that hard. With all the right conversion stuff, it bolts right in, that can't be hard!

Enlarging the shifter hole is usually for installing the shifter with the trans installed. If you install the shifter and then put the trans in, then install the stick with it in, you won't have to cut. That's the way I'm doing mine, I'd like to be able to get mine close to stock if I ever wanted, so hacking is bad on my list.

Go to my website and look at the EFI engine install page. There's a section on the speedo cable.
