Default 1969 Mustang glue-in to 1970 bolt-in door glass, how to?

Does anyone know the exact steps for swapping the 1969 glue-in glass to the 1970 bolt-in glass? I have the '70 glass, mounting plates and guides. Are there any special type bolts or bushings necessary to put this all together? The Ford schematic I have isn't very clear.

The bolt in glass will have some plastic discs that snap together through the window with one having a metal side. Metal side goes towards the outside of the door. Nothing special about the bolts just be sure to use nylock nuts so it doe snot rattle apart. They used a similiar system in that period of the trucks.

Thanks for the info.

One more question I forgot to ask- Will the 69 regulators work with the 70 bolt-in glass or do I also need to get 70's regulators also?

I have not done that particular swap but measuring the distance between the holes will tell you if the swap will work in this particular instance... Sorry 'bout the lack of detailed knowledge here...

Default Mustang Door Glass Swap

If you are swapping from a glue in channel based regulator to a rivit based door glass system, you will have to also change out the regulator, did you by chance when you got the 70' glass's look at the regulator on that car and compare it to the regulator on your car?

post back and let us know what you found out!

I found this set of instructions on the CJ Pony "Tech" page. Does this help?

Good luck!

Thanks everyone for your input. I had a successful swap. The 69 regulators work with the 70 glass. I also used two of the 69 C channels because they were easier to mount than the 70.

I got a great price on new 70 style glass from PS Auto Glass (http://www.psautoglass.com/) and all the mounting hardware from Sunstate Mustang Supply (727) 535-9158. Both were great to deal with.
