Default 1970 Mustang 351W engine code verification help

Hi,

I want to verify the engine code on the block of my 1970 mustang - Basically the VIN says that it should be a 351W 2V but I can't be sure the engine has not been swapped out. So does anyone know how to decifer the engine code for me?

As far as I can see, it reads:

OG117 or possibly 6G117 (not sure) - location is under the left bank head at the front of the engine. Is this even the right code? Seems too short.

*** edit *** found out by searching that this is the date code only and the 117 is probably a W for Windsor.

Any help appreciated.

Kramer

OK pulled the LH bank valve cover and found the 351 stamp. Also found the codes on the rear of the intake manifold - numbers are

C80E-9425-F

Pulled the starter motor out and found the number of the block - it is a C90E-6015-B 8.
