Default 427 Dual quad carbs, 4150's or 4160's?

I need help with this. I am putting a 514 stroker in my '69 drop top, with a Blue Thunder dual quad intake.(Setup the same as the old 427 manifold) I am going to use the new BOSS EFI dual throttle bodies. Here is my dilema, I don't know the physical dimensions of the 4150 and 4160 carbs. I have been told that the throttle bodies are the same size as the 4150's. I have read on the internet that the 427's used two 4150's and others have told me that's not true. That they used 4160 carbs. I am trying to figure out if the throttle bodies can sit inline or do I have to turn them sideways.

The 4150 and 4160 use the same mounting flange size so if the throttle bodies are the same as a 4150, you should be able to put them inline.

Hello. The 427 cars used 4160s. The only difference between them is the 4150s had the center-hung floats and the 4160s had the side-hung floats. The fuel line comes into a 4150 at an upward angle and on the 4160s it comes straight in, parallel to the ground, which made it much easier to make that fuel rail work without the line being in a bind on the R code cars. The W code cars had a single 4160. Hope that helps.

The 4160 carbs also used a secondary metering plate, instead of a block(between the float bowl and throttle body) like the 4150s. This made them about 1/2" shorter in length as compared to the 4150 carb.

Ford 427s had dual 4160s with the carbs mounted backwards and the throttle linkage passed in between the two carbs - with the carb linkage connections on the passenger side.
