Default 1965 Mustang Auto Trans Kickdown Linkage

Ok, I have seen some discussion of this topic in the past in the forum but I never did find out if it was resolved. The issue is "how to correctly hook up the kick down linkage on a 65 Mustang equipped with a 289 and a C4. My car has a lever assembly of sort that mounts to the top of the intake manifold. The lever assembly actuates a hard linkage rod which connects to the transmission. What is apparently missing on my car is the connection from the throttle linkage to the kickdown linkage. I have figured out an effective work around but I am still interested in knowing how Ford did it originally. Anybody got a photo or diagram of this set up?

By the way, I have a 67 Mustang also and I checked to see how the kickdown is done on it but no luck, the 67 has a completely different set up. The 67 has a dedicated arm connected to the accelerator pedal linkage which connects to a cable assembly, which then connects to the transmission.
