That is always my question. people bust my nuts for having a non-functional hood scoop but i'm like listen "Where would all the salt, snow, ice, rain, and general CRUD go? Right into my engine bay and mess everything up. I am glad its non-functional because on a DD, no wayyyyyy"

Anybody know the difficulty of installing the heat extractor hood? I just ordered one and curious to what all there is to install it. If there is any parts that need to come off the stock hood to go on there.

That's the only thing stopping me from getting an aftermarket hood (I don't want Eleanor style).

Any answers for us, CC?

Unbolt the stock hood latch and bolt on the new one and unbolt the old hood . The stock hood is very light weight because it's aluminum but you will need an assistant to help hold it while your unbolting it and bolting the new one on. also you need to remove the hose from the windshield squirter. I can't tell if this hood has a place for them so you might have to get a relocation kit to locate them on the wiper arms ( mine had a place to install the stock squirters).

As far as water and all the crud getting into the engine bay, the left opening in my hood is to the right of my CAI and basically is directly over where the MAF and factory intake tube come together. The other side is just behind the coolant tank. Mines been installed now for a couple years and I have not had any issues with water getting into the CAI. I have opened the hood and seen a little bit of snow sitting on the intake tube but nothing else.
