Here's a first for you. San Diego District Attorney has filed First Degree murder charges against a couple of street racers caught early in the morning. Not counting a list of about 17 other charges. Dead? 2 in a car that was not involved.
Everyone that knows me here, knows I'm very much against street racing. If two people died from their stupidity then they should bring murder charges against them. Heck I'll throw the switch!

I believe he stated "two that were not invovled" died. So why would we charge the street racers for their murder? Kind of unjust, don't you think?

Apparently the two killed were innocent victims of the street racers stupidity. Therefore the Street Racers should be tried for Vehicular Homicide or the most serious charge for deaths involving a motor vehicle....MURDER.
Dead? 2 in a car that was not involved...............I looks as if they were in a different car that was not involved in the race, unless there is more to the story that is not being posted.

Right, they were not racing but they got killed by the ones who were racing. That's why the people who were racing should be charged.
at the very least 40 years in jail and never be able to drive again. people need to learn that a fast car is like a child playing with a loaded gun when your street racing.

Killing somebody while street racing is technically "Murder" and street racers who kill should be tried as murders no matter what. Here in Los Angeles Calfornia if you are caught street racing your car gets CRUSHED, even if the car is still not paid off or not your car. Street racing +LosAngeles = Arrest, Jail time, Huge Fines, Mandatory Front row ticket to watch the vehicle get Chrushed. This law was passed a few years back and has definately helped. At the end of week they park all the street racers cars outside Van Nuys corthouse to show the public what will be CRUSHED next. They leave all the aftermarket parts intact and supervise the destruction to assure none of the equipment returns to the streets. Man I have seen some nice cars meet their fate because of some brainless streetracing owner.

Why not charge the for "illegal speed contest"? Im sorry but I street race almost every night, and well unless your an idiot nobody should get killed. Yes, accidents happen. When your playing with such powerful machines the risks are very high. If racers would display common sence while racing most accidents could be avoided. Its the dumb ones who ruin it for every one. I just want to say that we are not the ricers who pile up 50 deep and stand IN the road while trying to get races off. Turn off our head lights then get waisted and smash our cars into a pole going 85mph because thats all the speed we can trap. lol sorry.
let me renig my comment. If these guys were racing through a neighbor hood where there are families. I say kill em. If they were street racing through parking lots, or citie roads thats wrong. I race in BFE literally ONLY! where there is no one to hurt but myself and other people willingly particapating

Here in NC you get an automatic 6 months in jail, possible criminal charges, and the department that caught you takes your car permanently. I have no desire to (once I get outta the pokey) go by the PD and see my car that I've worked on for years have a light bar and D.A.R.E. stickers all over it. The one here has quite a few... a few Mustangs of various years, Camaros, imports out the ying yang, and an old Charger. To me, I'll go to the track. Plus at the track there's no excuses when someone loses and no law chasing you.

I also used to street race in my youth. As I have aged, I have come to the conclusion that there is NO place on this planet anymore where there is "no one to hurt" but myself. Even in BFE, you can't account for everything/everyone and there IS a chance that on a public road, an innocent can be injured/killed. I have to fight the urge to street race especially when a car I know I can smoke starts taunting me, but there just is no reason to do it in todays society. Drag strips are common enough that everyone can get their fix, safely, and often enough. If there isn't a drag strip near you (when I say near you I mean within 100 miles) then find out if there is a way to commision a local airstrip for a few hours every month. There are ways. Just quit street racing. The risk outweighs the bennifit.
