what does it take to beat one of these 300+hp stangs?! i have an 04 with a couple things done.. and i want to know what else i need done so i dont get beatin up by one of them

first of all you should consider it to be an honor to get beat buy an 05 plus mustang lol. second we are all on the same team why dont you pick on some chevys or dodges and number 3 get a new stang or wait till 2010 whe nthe new remodeled stangs come out they will have more horsepower to then are 05 plus cars.

I know what you mean, I get more hits from 05+GTs than any other car. Loosing to another Mustang isn't that bad but when a humongous silly green Charger beats me and gets better MPG, ouch! Not to mention the WRX smackdowns. I was proud of my Mustang at first but now it's just not enough. Gears make a world of diff in our cars, IMO thats the best start. Bolt-on mods will only get you closer to the stock 300hp of the 05+GT. In order to make more hp than a stock 05GT you will need head work & cams or a power adder. Unfortunate for me I'm live in CA and cant pass smog inspection with cams\power adders. I have bolt-on sitting in the garage waiting to be installed but I think I'm giving up on my 04GT. I'm considering a 03-04 Cobra but I'm checking all my options for around the same price....maybe....01vette.

You get those headers and x pipe, then add a bigger MAS, throttle body and elbow, pulleys, a timing adjuster, you should be on even ground by then.
