you probably should put a manual valve body in it. you may not have enough vacuum because of your cam to shift before that

hey me2stang i tried to shift manual.low ok..2nd ok ..drive almost went into steering wheel ,it went back into low???? people in the aera called cops thinking i was racing. i have another c-4 full manual reverse pattern with trans brake. i can put it in and go but i would like to get the one in it now to shift at lower revs. could use it for a spare. the way it is it's only good for strip use. the guy i bought it from said trans was new from preformance automotive. maybe it is i 'm not sure. need to find out how to slow it down. thanks ron

sounds to me like the problem is in the v-body.that trans uses vac to shift and probably been altered for drag racing.if you put a full manual v-body in you can shift it when you want. i have a pro comp trans from jw with all the goods in side. most shift kits take care of the problem your talking about so it makes me wonder whats been done to your trans!

It could be the governor as well as the valve body. I use a manual valvebody and I wondered once I got it in what took me so long to do it.
