Default c4 or c6 tranny?

hi guys i just got a question Im fixing to swap my aod tranny on my 89 mustang gt,but i can get c4 or c6 for a same price and i dont know which one is better for what i want for,dragracing.thank please help me

C4 by far!

The C6 is for heavy duty applications. One of the best transmissions ever made, but it's heavy and takes MUCHO HP to work. You NEED that HP at the track.....

Not possible to give advice without your HP goals.

Your complete combo is a factor as well.

You will need to buy the proper torque converter and the manufacturer will need all your info to give you the proper combo.

what size tires, and how much stall are you gonna have? i have a 4000 stall 28" tires and 4.10 and i cross the finish line about 6200 rpm

my tansmission guy says dont ever put a c-6 in a small block it robs all your hp and it is way too heavy

C6's are heavy!!!!! You would never need one with a properly built C4.......
