Default Newbie to the drag scene need some advice

Hey im from colorado running at bandimere first time last night on my almost stock 99 gt ran a 15.5. Looking at either new light weight rims with some drag tires and a tune is this a good idea is it gonna help my time? Any other upgrades in mind here are my mods- Borla exhaust, steeda short throw shifter, stage 2 clutch. Also i have a 80 shot of nitrous that ive been dieing to try out will that improve my time alot or is it not worth it untill i do some more upgrades?
Thanks alot and sorry for all the q's im new to this legal side of racing and i love it. One last thing if anybody has some old wheel set ups or any parts they would like to sell for my 4.6 send me a pm im intrested in getting just about anything better then stock.

Both are good ideas, the wheels/tires and the tune. It can handle that 80 shot right now, just make sure the tune is correct, in that you add in the correct amount of corresponding fuel.
What gears do you have now? I'm guessing stock, judging by your ET. Go up to a 4:10 and it'd be a night and day difference. At your altitude, you can use 4:10's without any problems.

Those times aren't bad at all, you have some thin air at that altitude and that knocks a lot out of it.

Tires and gears will help a bunch.

With some extra practice you should be able to dip into the low 15's maybe some high 14's with good weather. My father and I ran alot at pueblo, colorado with his 99 GT and the best we ever did was 15.0 with little more than a cat back and h-pipe. I've seen stangs up there with gears and drag radials running 14.7-14.9. The altitude kills the cars up there. But it is what it is. Also an 80 shot like EAGLE said is a good start, you WILL notice a difference with just an 80 shot our e.t.s in my dads stang dropped from a best of 14.7@95mph all motor to a 13.6@102mph, so trust me you will feel and see the difference. Good luck and keep us posted.
