TURN OFF traction controll and overdrive off till 70mph.THEN hit the overdrive button.
you will be nervous so stay focused when you pull up to the line or (Stage)3.
Pull up till the top 2 yellows light up. Then pull up a little more till the next 2 yellows under light up. You are then staged.hold Rpms to where your not going to spin your tires, about 1.5 rpms works for me.4.
AS SOON as you see the last yellow light punch it all the way to the end.5
No big deal.
Remember it is like popcorn you always have another one.
Experiment on the take off and see what works for you.
I say let the car cool down after run, open hood for quicker cooling.
I also read that lowering tire pressure in the back to about 24 lbs, and 50 in the front helps launches, I do not know about that though. Drag radial like MT ET streets work very well.
Good luck and have a blast.

Coo, you ran pretty good. Time for a stall converter and drag radials !
Thanks, I was actually looking into a TC. TCI and PA, any recommendations? I like the Saturday Night Special from TCI. Are there anything besides the TC I need for it the work?

Take care of that 60' and your going to get some great times!
What tire pressure were you running?
Did you pull through the water box or start your burnout in the water box?
Did you roll out of your Burnout?
It looks like your doing some spinning, what RPM did you end up launching at?
The key is in the 60'. The first thing I'm looking at on my slip is the 60 if it ain't right the rest isn't gonna get better! Trim a couple tenths off of that or get it to a 2 and you'll be surprised at your runs!
You definitely have a 13.* in that car as it is!!

Hey thanks for the reply. I know there is plenty of room to improve my 60 ft times and that's what I looked at first too. I had 30psi all around, I didn't want to bother messing with it at the time and I avoided the water box and did a tiny burnout to get the small rocks off the tires. I was launching at around 1200-1300rpm. I need LCA's as I spun the tires a bit. I was also looking at a TCI(Saturday night special) TC that stalls around 2000-2200rpm for better acceleration. The main thing though for me is that I had fun and nothing broke lol.

Hey any trip to the track that ends with you driving home or onto the trailer is a good trip!!!
Sounds like your on the right track for sure. Work on the tires, trust me they'll make or break you. Play with the pressure, with the burnout. You'll see a great deal of improvement.
Try rolling through the water box and starting your burnout just outside. That is if your using DR's (can't remember if you mentioned or not) I usually start my burnout in 1st and shift to 2nd then roll out.
I know a lot of people swear by LCA's but they won't help that much for the spin, if you got wheel hop definitely.
If it were me, I'd look into a set of line locks to assist you in the burnout (again if you have DR's). They'll help with getting the tires right and probably do more for your times then the LCA's (If you don't have wheel hop).
There's a place in Galveston Texas that makes a mean TC called Transking. we run several of them in cars running 9's and they would probably be cheaper. Just a few suggestions!
Ooh and if you don't have DR's, put them on the top of your mod list!
Main thing is to have fun with it!

Now does a TC require other supporting mods to make it work or do I just get the TC and I'm cherry? I'm just barley looking into TC and don't know much in this area. I found a mechanic in my local town that says he'll install it for a $100, he's a pretty cool guy and does a lot of work on transmissions.

I'll try to get you Gilberts phone number and PM you. He built my trans and my first TC. Great guy! Not really a transmission expert myself. But Gilbert knows his stuff, built my trans to handle 1100 rwhp and made it fit and work in my Mustang. Which in itself is a feat since it's a GM trans!
Just tell him what your doing and what type of power your running and he can spec you out and build you the right TC.
