rule number 1 dont spray under 3000 rpms, the other most important thing for it to function to it fullest potential is good bottle pressure. never spray below a 1000. try to maintain 1000 to 1200 on the bottle pressure it makes a big difference. put your safe guards in place and have fun.

I sprayed a whole bottle screwing around town last night . just put a fresh one in for tonight. thats one thing nice about filling your own you never run out. I have 2 64 lb cylinders in the garage and 3 10lb bottles in the freezer. yeah I am hooked,.

Bottom line that exceeds all others, don't get greedy with the level you add to it. That's when things like your pistons and rings disagree with you.

That pdf has pretty much all you need to know.

i would never say never to spraying under 3000 rpm

but if you do make sure drivetrain can handle it....

bottle pressure is very important as well as a good tune

don't get greedy .....n2o will turn on you

another small piece of advice if this is you first time on the bottle

don't hit it with 125 start slow 50-75 get use to how the car reacts...n2o make things happen considerby faster...

good luck.....

As far as safety is concerned you will need a blow down tube to race at a track. A rpm window switch is nice so you can program what rpm's the nitrous will only operate between.

hey cravenso2, ya you should always keep the bottle pressure between 950 to 1100. be carefull not to go over 1200 you will loose all the nos in the bottle because you exceeded the amount of pressure the bottle holds.

Check your local track but ive always seen that the nitrous bottle must be properly vented out of driver’s compartment. A blow-down tube does this. I believe if the bottle is separated from the passenger compartment by a firewall it is not needed, a back seat is not an acceptable firewall separating the driver’s compartment. Nitrous bottle heating elements are sometimes not permitted, unless controlled by a thermostat. Hope that helps, and once again just call the track you plan on racing at and ask. I dont want to have you pissed at me if its not the case there!

Nitrous per the nhra....

Nitrous Oxide
The use of any agents other than NOS as part of, or mixed with, this pressurized fuel system is strictly
prohibited. All bottels must be securely mounted, stamped with minimum DOT 1800 pound rating, and
identified as nitrous oxide. Nitrous oxide bottle(s) located in the driver compartment must be equipped with a
relief valve and vented outside the compartment. System must be commercially available, and installed as per
manufacture's recommendations. Commercially available thermostatically controlled blanket -type warmer
accepted. Any other external heating of bottle(s) prohibited.

with regard to safety IHRA is pretty much identical to NHRA rule

si if you follow the NHRA guideline you will have nothing to be concerned about
