has anyone heard about wd-40 on ur tires ?

a guy at the local drag strip was telling me one of the cars had a secret wepon WD-40 and that he had sprayed it on his tires and it created amazing grip does anyone know if this is true

Not to if i believe that one, VHT will get them tires to hook tho, Some ppls even say some Mountain Dew ....

I don't know if a lubricant is going to give you more traction. Maybe it strips the grease and dirt off the tires after you warm them up on the dragstrip giving you better traction. I would definitely question it at the dragstrip if he pulls up next to you to race!

I read this post last night, and Iv heard about this before, but couldnt remember when and what the idea behind it was.....

I REMEMBERED!

In Mud Drags you spray them down to keep the mud from loading up the tires. The lube propertys dont come into play when your throwing mud and rocks, for traction, but if the tire lugs load up with stuff, its like rumming a slick in the mud....not happening
