Question 1989 Mustang Spark Plug gapping question

I just bought a 1989 Mustang with a 1974 351w bored .060 over, 302 heads ( not sure if there stock ), Short tube headers, Victor Jr. single plane intake, Demon carb. (750 I think, checking it out.), MSD 6AL ignition, MSD Blaster 2 coil, MSD 8.5 wires.
I havent had it for more than a month, and drove it twice. But I want to do a tune up. Iam saving my money, as I type, to buy some good heads. I have replaced everything for my tune up but the spark plugs. My question today is, What would be a good spark plug gap for a motor set up this way? I bought the same plugs I took out..."AutoLite", the gap of the plugs I took out ranged between 40 and 45. The plugs looked kind of black. The car ran ok, I am just wondering if I can make it run better with a different gap?
I am a newbie Mustang owner, and dont have much experience working on cars ( Im learning though ). I would appreciate any advice. Thanks For Your Time!

I recommend 0.044 and DO NOT use platinum or any expensive plugs. The best application for your car are Autolite Copper core #25's
