NHRA Rules Drag Radials are Street Tires or Slicks?
Does the NHRA classify drag radials as slicks or street tires?
I've e-mailed them this question, so I will post the answer when they get back to me.
Maybe someone on here has the answer.
The rule book states; driveshaft loop required on all cars running 13.99 or qucker and utilizing slicks , except vehicles running 11.49 or slower equipped with street tires.
I may want to run drag radials if it would eliminate having to use a loop.
Thanks

Hey - I really don't understand why you don't want to install or have some install a drive shaft loop. With the amount of ponies you're pulling I would purchase one quite a bit sooner. Having bent 3 drive shafts, it goes a long ways by limiting damage to your car as well as yourself! It's better be safe than sorry!

I have a loop , but the driveshaft is rubbing on it becuse of clearance issues. Believe me, I'd rather keep my loop and slicks, but there's just no room with the exhaust. If I went with the radials and a loop isn't required(still waitting to hear back from the NHRA) I would drop off the lower part of the loop where it is rubbing and keep the top intact to protect myself.
If the driveshaft did let go, it would just sit on the exhaust anyways.
EagleAutosports gave me a link for an ajustable loop that I might give a try.

i had a similar problem with my car this is the loop i went to...
My loop is like the first link.
The car is going to the garage today.
The problem is , the cats are so close to the loop, that's there's only about 1/4" betwen the bottom of the loop and the top of the cats.
I may have to take off the cats and maybe the H-pipe to make room for a loop with more clearance.
