Default Getting started

I live on a small island in Alaska. My buddies and I have recently gotten permission to use an abandoned ww2 air strip to drag on and have found ourselves in the odd position of having our own personal drag strip but no drag cars! I can get my hands on a stripped fox body and have a carbed 351w and 1976 C4 in my shop. I'm hoping to put them all together with some gears and get on the track. Any input would be appreciated.

Use the search tool for the forums and browse around for a bit because most of what you'll need to know has already been answered in great detail. One of the keys to a successful build project is thoroughly reading up on the components you have to work with (forum threads, tech articles etc.).

Thanks for the reply. Which fox bodies had the 8.8 rear? What gear set would be best for a strictly strip car?

The 86' - 93's have the 8.8" rear end. The best gear setup would be 4.10 gears with 31 spline axles and some 75w90 Royal Purple gear oil.

Would that be for V8 cars or did the 6 bangers have the 8.8 also?

There weren't any late model Fox bodies 86'-93' with a V6 option. It was either 4 or 8cyl and I know the 4's didn't have an 8.8".

Good info. Again, thanks a million for the help. I think I have enough to go chassis hunting.
