i am looking at cams and have no clue witch one is best for my setup, the car is a 66, with a 1970 302, i have purchesed these parts so far ,a set of normal cast iron gt40 heads , edelbrock performer intake, 4-barrel holley 600cfm carb , and a set of hooker long tube headers. this will not be a race car,i wish ,but something to drive around in the summer and injoy, we dont have that emision crap here in michigan, so polute away, what cam should i buy that wont distroy my motor, but will make it get out of its own way, thanks guys

contact Crane or comp cams, they can give a cam grind that would work best with your setup, otherwise your just guessing, and thats no fun

The x-cam is a pretty big cam and it is a roller cam..you would have to convert you car to a roller...a little pricey
I had a 66 fairlane with a 289...your 302 is basically the same but you will have much better heads than i did (gt40 you said right)...i had a Lunati flat tappet cam...it provided ALOT of streetable power...i drove this car everyday to college for about a year (60 miles round trip)...i live in south texas and the summers are MAJORLY hot....it never overheated and ran perfect...i GUARANTEE you will love this cam...i had alot of fun with it...beat a whole lot of cars too!! it was this cam: Lunati 00061 - Lunati Hydraulic Flat Tappet Camshafts - summitracing.com
i loved it...is your car a manual tranny? I had a performer rpm intake.

Go with StangLX93 post. Cam companies trip all over themselves to get you the right combo. By the way, you don't need to pollute to go fast. My Stang passes emission's test at mile high.
