hey guys, i set the timing on my 1970 302, after that i attemped to dial in my holley 4160, for some reason i can take the idle screw right of the carb an hold it my hand and the car stays running, when i put the car in gear-auto-, it bangs realy hard ,i cant figure it out i have played with the timing ,when i do that it brings down the idle but makes the car run like crap,any help would be great, thanks

i dont know about the banging but check your throttle cable and return springs.it just sounds like the butterflies arent being allowed to close.

I want to know what "Bangs really hard" means. How fast is the idle ??? Vacumn leak will throw you off ??? What is Bangs ???
