I left Maryland at 430am on Wednesday to drive to No Problems Raceway at Belle Rose, LA for Pinks All Out.
It was 20 degrees and I had to scrape ice off my windows.
It was 1170 miles and 20 hours to Belle Rose.
My Mustang ran fine and I had no problems.
The 10.1 class of cars were called to be in the 32 finalists. (I was in the 11.5 class)
There were almost 300 10.5 to 10.0 index cars at the event.
The actual filming of the show started at 9pm and finished at 11pm.
It was a real close race and the guy that won it deserved it.
I will not spoil the show; you will just have to watch it in July to see who wins.
Some exciting parts, On Friday, while waiting to run an 2005/2006 Pontiac GTO was one lane over and two cars in front of me.
We got in our cars and got ready to run when the GTO (with THE JUDGE sticker on the side) exploded!
A fire ball went 50 to 80 feet into the air.
It was better than any special effect you have seen in a movie.
His hood went 80 feet up in the air too.
Pieces of his car came falling down all around us.
It appeared that he was running nitrous and that it was left on while his car was off and it filled up his plastic intake manifold.
When he started his car it exploded!
The driver was ok and the fire went out by itself.
His car was totaled! It blew off the hood grill, folded back the fenders, took off the top of his engine and pushed the radio back into the cab of the car.
It cracked the back window of the car in front of him.
I snapped a couple of pictures, but the camera crew kept everybody back so that they could interview the driver and get footage of the wreck.
I did not get many pictures as I was focused on my racing and the cops, looky lous, and camera crew were in the way.
One of the Pro Mod Cars was showing off and did an 1/8 mile burn out and hit the wall.
It was made to look like a 55 Cadillac Hearse and he took off the front end of the $150,000.00 car.
A fast car doing 130 + miles an hour put his car into reverse after he crossed the ¼ finish line and left 400 feet of tire marks on the track until he hit the wall.
You will be able to see all of this and more when the show airs on the Speed Channel in July. There will be two shows, Pinks All Out and Pinks All Outtakes.
I was interviewed twice. It was very nerve wracking. I had to repeat the interviews over and over as the sound guys were having problems.
It does not matter as it will end up on the editing room floor!
I left the event and drove back to Maryland and arrived to a foot of snow in my driveway!
It was a blast!
Next will be Pinks All Out in NC for me!
Cheers,
Tim Watts

What 1/4 mile times does it do?
For Pinks All Out, everything is based on 1/4 mile times.
I was in Class C (12.00-11.50) The classes ran from A-J.
Hope to see you there, I will be running my Black 2005 Mustang.

Alright, you asked for it. Here are my first group of pictures from the Friday Test & Tune for Pinks All Out in NC.
I arrived at the track at 0730 and was the 270th car in. I sat in line and finally got signed in at 1030. My Race/Tech number was 256 and they were calling up the cars in groups of 50. I finally got “tech”ed in around 2 pm and they had already called my class (C), for the first test run while I was still in the Tech line. I left Tech and went straight to the staging lanes and got my first pass in. It was a 11.89.
They called us back up at 5pm for our second test run and we got a big surprise. Clay Milligan and Rich met us at the staging lanes and told us that he was going to pair up 16 of us C classes and do a practice arm drop race, just like it would be done on the show. If you won then you lined up again and kept doing it until there was a final winner. I go paired up against an older Chevy that had also run an 11.89 on his first pass. We got up for our turn and a car had broken down in the return lane (flat tire), so they made us wait forever as they cleared it. I had just shut off my car when they told us it was time to go. I think that I must have left my Traction control on as my car just seemed to have no power at the top end. I ran a 12.00 to the Chevy’s 11.60 (sandbagger). It was a lot of fun , but if it was for real, I would have lost my chance at $10,000.00. Now I just need to rest and be ready to do it again tomorrow (if they pick our class). I hope to see some of the forum members at the track tomorrow. Sorry I did not get any pictures of the cars racing. My parking spot is not too near the track and it was really too hot to go for a long walk.
