Ok my 03 mustang gt with just under 70,000 miles it does a 9.2 1/8th mile with a 2.500 60ft, I have 40 series flowmasters, steeda underdrive pulleys, cold air intake, shortthrow shifter, 17by9inch cobra R rims with 315 sumitomo high performance tires in the back, a throttle body spacer and a Diablosport predator tuner, it but down 220hp and 260ft/lb to the wheels without thw tuner. Does this sound about right for the 1/8th mile?
you should be a little quicker. Your 60ft times are what are killing you. I put down 2.0 60ft times with an auto. with a 9.2 1/8th mile you would be in the 14.4-14.6 1/4 mile range

Yea man a 2.5 60 foot is weak. Like they said youll notice a lot if you can get to 2.1 2.2. My best 60 foot was a 2.188 with crappy Hankook Ventus that were about 60-70% worn and it improved my trap speed a lot, and obviously 1/4 mile time. I put down a 9.11 1/8 mile with my 14.02 run.

2.3s 60's are realy bad for a rear wheel drive car. With 315 size tires and 220whp you should be getting enough grip.
You might want to work on your launch. Did you feather the clutch? At what rpm did you launch?

Yes, DR's would help you. One thing about the Nitto's is that you really need to heat them up for traction. I have 2 sets that I won in a burnout contest and they are not even close to the performance of the MT's on the '02. A couple little cheap tricks would be to remove the front sway bar or at least disconnect it when you go to the track for better weight transfer to the rear. Most guys just disconnect it because they have it for a daily driver. This will allow your front end to raise. Take all the excess weight out of your car too. jack, spare tire, etc.
Your car should be in the mid-high 13's if you get your 60's down......
i launch at about 2000rpm and i dont dump the clutch i kinda release it smoothly til i feel the car hook up if you know what im saying, what
that a good method for your launch .......
the secret to that is raising your initial rpm & doing it as fast as possible without blowing the tire off the car or lighting the red bulb at the bottom of the tree.....
remember the more seat time you get the et's will come down....

Sounds like you are using the correct method for your launch. The proper way is to feather the clutch and work the gas petal so your tires chirp all the way till redline in first gear. Begin at about 2000rpm and increase the throttle while you feather the first gear. You might also need to work on your shifts. Some import guys stay on the gas between shifts. If you have a tunner you could adjust your rev limiter lower and don't let off the gas between shifts. Take all of the crap out of the trunk. Drop your rear tire pressure to about 20psi. Practice, practice, practice

My bone stock 2.3l gets 60ft @ 2.56-2.58, depending on temp and humidity.

I agree. I have my old timeslips hanging here in the garage and my front wheel drive car with street tires at 33psi pulled a 2.1 60ft. A stock looking C6 vette I was racing pulled a 2.0. STI pulled a 1.7
