The approved rim range for race tires is the tread width plus or minus 1.
Note: The sidewall measurement will change with rim width. The rule of thumb is 4/10ths of an inch, over all, for each 1change in rim width.

depends on what size wheel you can fit in your wheel well. We run a 15x12 rim with a 28x10.5 so we get the most contact patch available but a 10 inch wide wheel will work and a 9 inch will to but you wont get the most tread on the ground with that size wheel.

i was wondering because someone was trying to trade us a set of tires and some cash for a c-6 we just took out. but our wheels are 14" wide and he told me they would work, but i think he is just trying to make a deal. but we decided not to do it anyway. thanks for the info.

O and i hate to say it but our c6 left for a th-400. lol

i am not sure how wide the wheels are, but the true ten 5 guys around here are running at least a 12" rim with their 10.5" slick. high 7s arent bad in the 1/4 on a 10.5" slick

Having the wider rim also helps with stability on the big end with the 10.5 tire. However, I think 14" wide is a bit on the wide side!

I have a Th400 myself......love the thing! Just don't freak out if you dyno afterwards and power seems down quite a bit more then expected.
