I didn't know if I should put this in my older thread or start a new one, so I just decided to start new...
I went to the track again yesterday to test out my car after swapping to the new intake.
I tried putting the bags of wood pellets in the trunk. 40lbs, each and did a couple of runs with 2 bags, then 1 bag, then none all while dropping tire pressure. With 2 bags my whole car weighed 3500 lbs with me in it.
I didn't meet my fast time of 14.8 but I was running fairly consistant times all day. I was in between 15.1 and 15.4 all day except for one run where I ran a 16.+ because I missed 3rd.
I forgot my time slips, but I'll get them after lunch and post up my times.
Consistancy is good for me, all the other times I've been to the track, my times would bounce anywhere between 15 seconds all the way up to a couple of 17's! So now I have a pretty solid time to work off of...

I don't think I gained any speed... If I remember right, most of them were all in the low 90mph range.

Forgot to say good job on your newfound consistency so good job bro . By any chance are you running the stock throttle body still?
Yeah, unfortunately I'm still running the stock TB. My check engine light is still on, and I haven't ran the codes YET, so that could be why I didn't see any improvements over the stock intake.
And thanks for the compliment!

with the new manifold just curious did you read the plugs ????
was wondering with stock fpr & tb was it running a little lean ???
I was actually going to take out a couple of plugs tonight and check them along with scanning my computer for codes. I have a check engine light but it's probably an O2 sensor the way it goes off when I turn my car off then it comes on after it's warmed up......

I can't find my time slip for the 2nd run, but yal get the point.
What should I expect for a good 60' time for my car with the mods in my signature and street tires?
I also have video's of almost all of my passes that day. I had my wife and my dad get some good video's up close to the car too.
I'll try to get those on here tonight.

i will not paint a pretty picture the 60' are killing you
you need to get those sub 2.0's....
new tires will make all difference in the world.....
for the moment i would save wear & tear on the car
not go back until you get your tires....
JMO & experience talking.....
You said it Reggie. I am one step ahead of you, I'm kinda loosing an uphill battle with these street tires. I've already decided to hold off on the racing until I get new tires.

your best run was without the added weight of the bags...dont put them in any more...more weight is always a slower time...i told ya so!
you should be at least a low 14 on new tires..at least a nitto drag...wouldve thought that intake would give you more mph? Is it the tubular gt40 or the explorer one?

It's the tubular intake... BUT, I still need to set my timing to 12* and set it with the spout connector unpluged. I advanced my timing a few days ago but did it with the spout connector still plugged in, so it has probably retarted itself some. I also have to get my TPS voltage set correctly at .98-.99. When me and my dad were setting it we could only get it to stay at .97.
I also have a check engine light on, which I've been too busy to check.
So I'm not too concerned yet that I didn't see any MPH or ET improvements from the intake.
I have a wife and 3 year old daughter, my wife is a stay at home mom so we have one income. So just paying the $15 to go to the track is hard enough let alone going out and buying new tires and wheels for the track isn't as easy and just going out and getting them...

why 12 degrees? Also, if you advanced your timing WITH the spout connector still connected then why would it retard itself? You cant time it with a light if the connector is still in anyway...so if you advanced it then you advanced it...maybe not as much as you like or maybe too much...
I understand your situation with one income and having a daughter...a word of advice...if you cant "afford" a good set of street tires...you might wanna consider not racing...things break when you race and its gonna cost ALOT more than a set of rear street tires!
Consistency is running the same time again and again and again.....like a 15.12....15.16....15.14....etc....
I',m sure once you get the wrinkles ironed out you'll do much better....tires is just the BEST way to get your car to run consistent times....just trying to help you out
