Any Suggestions? 1992 Mustang gt 1/4 time need your opinion??Thanks..

I am new to this site. Not sure if this is the apporiate place to be askin this. I Bought a stock 92 gt last year. It had a rebuilt bottom end, but everything was replaced with stock parts. I took it to the track last year and im a drag racing fan. love it. but im not a driver.. I have been practicing though..I ran a 15.40 2.4 60 ft 93mph awful 1.70 reaction time. spun through 1st and 2nd gear on street tires...one wheel spin..

Since then I have got 3:73 gear, fresh clutchs in trac lok diff, shorty unequal length headers, H-pipe, new 40 series flowmasters, 70mm 93cobra maf, CAI fenderwell mount, electric fan, underdrive pulleys w/o alternator pulley, deleted smog and a/c, Nittio 555r drag radials, hurst plus ST shifter, and a 5 inch tach shift light.

Say you wheir drivin my car what do you think the best time it could run in 1/4...60 et..

Here is a video of my first run....thanks alot..

Right now, what you need the most is seat time. The more seat time you get, the more you'll improve your times. It seemed you wandered a bit there around the 1000 foot mark.
Mid 13's should be within reach with the car as is, keep at it and you'll get it.

I've read alot on this site. Probably about 2 hrs a day for the last week. I've read alot about advancing timing. I've never had my timing checked or advanced. Would that help me. What would you advance it to.

Base timing is 10* btdc......

there is no magic number each car is different ...

my suggestion is advance it until it starts to ping and back it off a little

viola advanced timing free horse power....

it's that simple.....

Got my timing advanced today. Got it up to 15*. Couldn't really tell that much difference but, that was normal driving.

i think a 13.8-14.2...nitto drag radials arent the best...but WAY better than regular street tires...dont think it can go mid 13

i had similar mods (no fan, no maf, no headers) on a 90 gt and pulled a 14.02 on nitto drag radials

my coupe (no fan, no maf) went 13.5 on full slicks on a 5k launch''i think with full slicks OR a better drag radial...mid 13's are capable...not on the nittos though...

also, my 90 gt liked 14 degrees intial timing...so did my coupe

i think most 5.0's like 14 degrees...ive seen some go up to 16

none of my cars have pinged at 14
