Default Went up to the track last night

Hey guys, I finally got a chance to get up to the track Wednesday night.
As of right now the Stang had 4.10s, 70mm TB, C&L Plenum, K&N FIPK II, SLP Catback and Diablo Tune.
I have BF Goodrich g-Force KDW 245/45 17 on the back.
I only got 3 runs in, my first run was a 14.2 @ 102mph with a 2.58 60 foot
My second run was a 14.0 @ 102 with another 2.5 60 foot
My 3rd run was against a brand new challenger .
I ran a 13.9 @ 102.7 with a 2.36 60 foot. I accually beat the challenger by I think 3 tenths and he had a 2.4 60 foot.

They gave me the boot because I completley forgot my helmet like a moron.
I know my car can run mid 13's. I need to get my 60 foot down. Its a lot harder with the 4.10s. I reved it up to about 2,500rpm and feathered the clutch and granny shifted (but very fast) into 2nd, 3rd but powershifted 4th. The car was spin if I powershifted.

Anyone have any suggestions so I can get my 60 foot down?
I got into the 13's finally, last year on a bonestock GT I got a 14.02 with a 2.1 60 foot. So its nice hitting 13's after a long 6 months lol.
Now I just need to get a good launch. Thanks guys

+1 to Reggies question, I don't see any suspension work in your mod list.

Your not getting the power to the ground is what I'm thinking. You're making up your time on the big end, and you are correct get that 60' down and you'll get way better times.

Nothing so far. Im going to get some J&M Control Arms...I think Ill pick up a lot more too with a mid pipe and dyno tune. Because besides an intake manifold my whole intake side is done. And my exhaust is holding the car back with the factory H-pipe. Plus a dyno tune would be huge.

Like I said I only had 3 runs in. I was getting use to launching the car. I still think I can get a 2.1 or 2.2 60 foot time pretty easily with my setup. I think I could get it lower if I hook perfectly. I was thinking about getting some 315's for the rear too.

You really need to work towards a sub 2.0 60'. You'll need twice the power at the big end to make up for what you loose in the 60'. So your quickest gains are in that 60!

How much will bad shocks/struts hurt your time?

Just all depends. How bad is bad?

I agree, I want to see what I can get with my setup now. Ill be adding an o/r X pipe and do a dyno tune soon. But I'm definatley getting some J&M Control Arms, and probally some Nitto NT555R's. I would love to hit low 13's.

You hit almost 103 MPH for your trap...I'd say if you threw on some DR's and dropped that 60' below 2 seconds you would def. hit low 13s.

Before you invest in the $500 dyno tune that money would be better spent on a suspension upgrades

you are having trouble getting the car to hook now

your having more power will make the situation even worst

suspension now = lower 60'

lower 60' = Low 13 second car.....

I agree with Reggie. It doesn't matter how much power you have if you can't hook it up. I think you need to work on the other part of the racing equation a little now.

I agree 100% aswell. But the dyno tune is only $150. But i agree. I know I can get my 60 foot down, I was getting use to laucnching the car then I got booted because I forgot my helmet like a toolbag. lol

Bad as is they bottom out when you hit a speed bump and squek when they move, in other words ruined shocks/struts

Sorry not trying to jack the thread just interested since thats pretty much how mine are and i was thinking of going to the track next weekend but if it makes a huge difference ill just wait until i replace them to go to the track

contrary to popular belief suspension hold just as much importance as horsepower....

I would wait until the car is a 100%.....
