Major bummer at the drag strip, this weekend I went out and know one was there I wanted to take the time to truly master my launch although there was a problem.............
When I launched the last best timeI had was 12.2 I know I could hit 11's with some tweaking and then this happened. I went to launch and for the first time the car seeme to dump, at the line as if there was to much fuel and not enough nitrous although this was my normal setup nothing changed other than I reloaded the tune before I ran so it was fresh. I hve been asked if I ever stall at the line using nitrous but never come close I run high 12's low 13's N/a and running nitrous I ran high 13's althogh the car was running great in stock form on the way there.
125 shot wet 900 to 1000 psi perfect.
As some of you know I have been rying to best my tme for a while and everytime I go I take about .2 off I went from 12.6 to 12.4 and then 12.2.
does anyone know why this would happen I can only think thatcthe tune loaded inncorrectly and it caused a prob.

that shot could be killing your motor? i mean, if 12.2 was your best time last time, and 12.2 was your best time this time, and you haven't changed anything...unless you really got your launch perfected, i wouldnt know how you would cut time without any other mods..
Actually you can get a bit more power launching with 1050 in your bottle. I launch at 1050 psi in my bottle. The tune may need to be reloaded to stock , then to the nitrous tune. I do not think this is the case. I think it was the bottle pressure. Check your plugs also.

I still think you need to add more fuel to your 125 shot. I'm running a 33 fuel jet on my 100 shot. The A/F is set at 12:0 across the board. The NX recommended jetting is too lean for your car due to all the modification. Since your car is not stock...I would not go with their recommended settings.
If I was yout, I would go up at least 2 jet sizes. You may need to get a boost a pump. I had to with my 100 shot.
Also remember you're going hit a big lean spike when your N20 hits. The higher the bottle pressure the bigger that spike is going to be. I've been working with NX the past few months regarding proper tuning for our cars. Mike Abney at Nitrous Express can help you out with recommended jetting.
If I was you I would go to a 35 jet on your fuel setup. Be very careful because your fuel pressure will likely drop to 20 PSI during that hit. Also I have a feeling your fuel setup will not be able to handle the needed volume of the 35 fuel jet. NX recommended me to stick with the 100 shot on my car. The risks of the 125 and 150 shot on a stock fuel setup can cause scary lean spike.
I've spent numerous hours on the dyno with our cars working on a proper A/F ratio. I'm doing a side by side comparison of Ethanol vs Gasoline for Nitrous Express.
You may also want to try going to a 100 shot and keep the 33 fuel jet. Make another run down the track and see how your car runs.

Datalog everything with your Livewire. Your fuel trims should be as close to 1 as possible. If they are staying right around 1 then your fuel should be fine. As Jon said tho, you might want a boost a pump with a 125 shot and your mods. I won't go with 125 jets on mine and a bottle pressure over 950 without fuel upgrade.
I'd get that thing a dyno tune too.

Along a different line. If you were rich at launch and the car seemed to lack nitrous could the solenoid have locked up on you? Did you take the Intake off the car and try the nitrous with the car off to make sure it would spray? Did you listen for the click on the solenoid?
All you need to do is disconnect the intake. Put the key in the accessory position and arm the nitrous. Put the pedal to the floor and the thing should spray.
Everyone makes some really good and valid points I'm just wondering since you said it seemed RICH if this might be the case. Some solenoids won't take a lot of pressure and tend to lock up when they are over pressured.....even the best ones can lock up after a lot of use.
Hope you get it figured out and get back to lowering those ET's.

Last time I remember Shifter87's A/F was somewhere around 13:1 on the bottle...which is way too lean. If he's losing fuel pressure down the track this would explain the car falling on its face.
I would be surprised if this is a issue with his car running too fat.

Yes but he mentioned the problem out of the hole not on the big end.

Oh, I would agree with that. Just saying if he was rich out of the hole his solenoid most likely didn't open. Specially if he's tuned for a 13.1 A/F not likely to be rich unless the solenoid didn't open.

Like you told me, take the intake off; and see if it is spraying. I think the solenoid did not work also.

Ok I thought the colder the bottle the leaner the motor ran. Now the higher the bottle temp (more pressure) The richer it will run. Is this not the case. I was told this by the guy who did my dyno. I would`nt be surprised if it was BS.

No I planned on running the same setup for this last weekend to best my time and then switch the fuel jet when I got home to datalog the difference it has.
It sprayed fine yeterday when I tried to test he solenoid but when I tried to spray today on the road to check it, it didn't kick like normal so I have to check the jet again and if that doesn't work I'll have to send it in to replace the solonoids. got to love that limited warrenty, and yet hate the down time it will probaly intell.
I have been using nitrous for a while and have always been told not to put bottle preesure over 1000 that between 900 and 1000 is perfect. I could be wrong but it seemed to work fine.
Also I hae a question that could solve my prob. I just started to leave the nitrous on and pressurised at al times instead of wasting purging out the line would this mess up the nitrous solonoid. without the torch the bottle stays at about 7 in t he morning and around 9 when it warms up I think this could be a problem and failed to mention it.
Do our other key nitrous users purge or leave it live? I use it often and hate wasting the full line of spray.
