Shift gate alignment

I have a Cheetah SCS shifter in my car. I have a TH400 for a trans. I bought the shift gate for the TH400 trans to give me the "proper" spacking for that trans. I have never been able to get the lock outs correctly aligned.

This past weekend was my last straw! I noticed that on 2 out of the 4 passes that I was going from 1st to 3rd!

My addrenalin made me overshift twice. On my last pass I had to kick myself in the butt a few times to calm down.

I have a shift gate for a c4 that is closer to the spacing than the correct one. Could there be a problem with the actual cable where it is too short or too long?

I've tried adjusting hundreds of times and no dice.

i love the play by play.....

as far the shifter i have not a clue.....

i guess a pro 5.0 shifter won't help you.....

I looked at it in Summit. Are they saying that you order the shifter and have to order the gate seperate? Or is it that you order for your application (TH400) and if you change later you can get a different gate? See it comes w/ the cable. I know it is for looks but the cover really isn't necessary is it? Concern w/ protecting linkage at the shifter?

I'm not sure on the gate (I think you order for your aplication, just call and ask) but you don't have to use the cover at all. I dont use one but I have what looks like a shift boot on mine.

That's a nice look. I don't have a consel so It might actually look alittle funny w/o the cover.

Yeah, but you could always pick it up later if you don't want to spring for it now.

I can tell you it works perfect with the THR400. That's the setup I'm running!
