Police could not confirm whether the car that struck the crowd had its lights on. Nor can they confirm that they had their lights off! That is why, no charges were filed against the driver.

I agree!
It is quite clear that you will never agree that street racing is stupid, but the road that you race on sounds more and more like a drag strip to me.
It is on private land, goes nowhere, is unused and only a couple of people use it with the land owner's permission.
That is a drag strip.

OMG holy cow guys you know what livin life is dangerous walkin down the street, workin on my car, 4 wheelin, huntin, fishin, horse ridin, bull ridin, street racing, drivin down the road........there is a trillion ways we cab die no matter if its legal or not it doesnt matter everyone has there own opinions and right to speak what they wana and if someone wants to do something elegal then thats there desision you cant stop them once its done its done whether they think its ok or not so lets not get all worked up over this its just a chat not an agruement.......but man I tell yall what some of yall would make some damn good lawyers.....
The way this world is today you have to watch out for not only yourself but others to so what lilduececoupe77 is doin trust me there is alot worse that is bein done but im not sayin its ok and then again im not goin to say its bad thats my final words.......
O and there aint nothin wrong with bein a redneck there is some good ones and im not afraid to say im a redneck but then again I would say others have a different deffinition on "redneck" and I have good southern manners to I say yes sir yes mam thank you exc. I was raised right .....
I agree, like I have said all along, I DO NOT condone the little ricer idiots racing down main street putting everyone in danger, by putting myself in danger, I do that everyday by waking up and going to work, but I and My friends are as safe as we can possibly be as to not put anyone in harms way, and if there were that slightest possibility we would not race, period end of story, but what we have is a positive place that we can race the way we want and not have to worry about crssing paths with any pedestians, other motorists(this excludes ourselves for obvious reasons for all you trial lawyers out there lol, good one by the way) or anyone that has not chosen to be there. its that simple, We race on a piece of asphalt that is no longer traveled on and cannot eb accessed by the general public, have I before, Yes and nor have I denyed that, but I dont condone putting anyone who doesnt know the risk in harms way. Believe it or not, I do care about others well being. Oh, and your D**n right theres nothing wrong with being a redneck of sorts, just not the toothless idiot types, and I as well like all of those things. Oh, and by the way the track my cousin was killed at was Memphis motor speedway, i saw that you were from tennesee so I thought I woudl throw that in there.
you think you are right and the majority know you are not....
just because there is not sanctioned track within 5 min of your house
you have elected to setup a make shift area that is as bad or worse than the track you mention earlier in this melodrama....
God forbid someone gets kill at "lilduececoupe77 dragway"
again you will most likely find out how much support you don't have....
here is a couple interesting stories supporting you views

Well thats what we use it for, no its not actually a drag strip because it is still part of a road and yes it is on private land, but its still street racing because its not on a track, right?? Thats what the argument has turned into, and I have explained this more than once. Oh, and the road still goes on, its just the asphalt that remains on my buddies land, both ends of the road have dirt leading up to them but you would have to have on heck of a 4x4 to get to the asphalt so yeah basically it goes no where is guess. Im sure the dirt part of the road could still be used but i cant honestly say I woudl understand why someone would try now after 3 years and never seeing anything there, well except 4 wheelers, but they cant get in anymore because my buddies family put up fences around the whole property when the interstate was fixed. the road still belongs to the state, but the land it resides on now belongs to my buddies family. So you can call it our private strip I guess, but its only private because thats the way we want it. If joe blow wanted to try hard enough to get out there I guess he could but he would catch H**l trying. I guess its a street racers paradise, because we still race just like if we were to be on the street with all the ricers and idiots.
I guess in a way this is kind of like the lesser of two evils. On one hand you could be out on the street and putting many lives in danger or you could be here. I'd say this is a better option, but you guys really should go to a track, maybe talk to the owners of these run down tracks and help them spruce the place up a bit. I don't know I guess I'm kind of a middle man

Well first things first, thanks for posting the Presott raceway on here, it was closed down for a while and had not heard that it is open and im sure that there are people here that dont know that it is either, its just a little over an hour from here, so thanks for that, as for the other posts, they are once again the idiots that I dont condone what they do, and they were isolated cases in one part of our state, northwest, I live in the southwest, I know that doesnt make any difference in the argument, but one thing that the politician said in the first one is that they arent worried about the husband and wife that says hey I bet i can beat you home, well my friend that too is street racing and is just as dangerous as some moron racing down the wrong side of the road like in the second one. I never once said i was kewl with putting innocent motorists in danger like these retards, nor will i ever, our lil place is isolated and not accessable by the public, and also in the first one it says drag racer loses control at a track in TN and kills 8, along with streetracers kill 6, so where is the argument that one is more dangerous than the other?? They arent, and what my friends and i do is no more dangerous than going to a track, because as I got tagged for earlier we amde that choice. We havent put anyone other than ourselves in danger racing where we race and if there was the slightest possibility that would happen, we would not do it, period. We can all sit here and argue right from wrong, but if the police condone what we are doing and says its not wrong, then is supposed to be because you guys say it is?? No, I beleive i will let my local lawmakers decide that I am dong wrong or not. Once again tho thanks for posting the Prescott raceway and Ill spread the word to everyone that it is for sure open or at least to call and make sure.

Trust me we tried to get the owners to do something different, and even offered to do the work no charge, but they were just interested in filling the lanes and putting butts in the seats and had no concern of safety, thats when we resorted to doing our own thing, we just figured that if we were gonna die racing it would be doing all we could do to be safe and under our own terms. I am glad that Reggie did post the link to the Prescott raceway because it was actually bought out 4 or 5 years ago by a couple who vowed to get it back up to standards and they were doing a great job and then had to shut down for quite a while for a family members illness or something of the sort and we have never heard of it opening back up and we all love that track. Im not sure if anyone that races around here knows its open because it is over an hour from here, but i am going to spread the word and maybe go up there this coming Friday night if it is for sure open.
Whew, thanks Reggie, I just read the bill HB1256 and I am happy to inform you guys that by state law we are not considered doing anything illegal because we are not on a piece of roadway that is maintained by any state, county, or city governing body, we maintain it ourselves. So I guess that means we street race, just not on the street, right??

Talking about how he uses this "Private road" and the cops "are ok with it".
Then later telling us he never runs from the cops and has paid his "$2,500 fine many times".
He does nothing but contradict himself, to justify his cause.
There's no use in continuing this. He's not going to stop till he kills some one. Even then I'm sure his biggest concern will be how much trouble HE himself is in. You can't make somebody understand the danger they put someone else in unless they actually CARE about anyone else.

Very true, no one will condone it and for good reason.
